Kevin Pietersen - Phenomenal Batsmen - Underused OffSpinner

Post by marcussjd9 on Thu Feb 28, 2008 11:31 am

Who agrees that Pietersens offspin could be used a little more?
Very rarely will Vaughan use either himself or Pietersen although both are capable (part time) spinners.
Also Ian Bell is in the same boat.

Totally agree with that mate, I also think that people can become complacent when faced with a part-timer. Eg. Michael Clarke gets lots of wickets when he bowls, however I would class him as a geniune spinner.

Pietersen himself has done it several times.
But thats part of his batting temperment...

Also a recent example of part timers taking wickets ... Jesse Ryder.
2 wickets 2 balls. Both openers with 50's

Pieterson is a good bowler I have heard hes working hard on his bowling.
As for ian bell he bowls frequantly for warwickshire i saw him in teh C&G trophy 05 and he bowled very well... at that match we all got excited when KP came in and he made like 1 haaha

yeah i'm reading his book at the moment,
started off as an offspinner, with mid order batting.
says he wants to be used more in tests, i guess he should be used more to get somne experience
