I would have gone with Prior as he has not been that bad. If ECB wanted new blood in, they shouldnt have picked him in the first place.

I agree Armie! Prior was averaging 44 with the bat...why change him!
But I suppose we do need a keeper who can keep instead of being a batsman first and foremost

Prior's batting in the test matches has been good, England's third best batsman in the seires. But his keeping has not been up to international standards, he has simple dropped too many catches. The way I see it, is you want a keeper who can bat, not a batsman who keeps. You want your solid keeper who comes in at 7 and can bat a bit. The top 6 are the ones who should score the runs, we shouldn't have to reply on our number 7 to come and and blaze a 100. If we can get a really good keeper, who doesn't drop catches, and can come it at 7 and score 50 odd then we'd be sorted.

Do u guys have an academy for cricket in england, because it would hepl u guys get better players earlier and might get u guys a better keeper. Thats the reason why australia have been so good because of the youth programs.

ok
The devolment would be the 'A' team. eg. the second XI
And notice for the 15 years our academy has been around we have started winning a lot more than the 80's and very early 90's
Almost all of the current test and ODI squad have gone to our acedmy.

this link is what i meant..
