20/20 world cup in doubt

Post by superjaffa on Fri Jan 04, 2008 1:35 pm

the 20/20 world cup which is to held in england in 2009 is in doubt after gordon brown has barred zimbabwe from playing in the uk and it is unlikely the 20/20 world cup will go on england when one of icc full members is barred from participating so it might be moved elsewhere

A poor move by the govournment if you ask me. On one hand there is the issue of player safety, which has to be taken very seriously and must not be put on the line. But on the other hand we could be jepodising our oppotunities of hosting a great event. Its a hard decsision to make.

i agree with danny, the players safety should never be put on the line but i think it would be a huge loss if england lost the chance to host

It's nothing to do with player's safety, since it's to be held in England... It's a protest at Mugabe's regime in Zimbabwe

Well the poor cricket team has nothing to do with the govermnent really. Its obviously a poor decision, one which will not bring a good name to the game of cricket and do nothing for the people of Zimbabwe.

We all know Mugabe's regime is wrong - the whole world should do something about it! But the cricket should go on if not it is like we are surrendering to Mugabe! bounce

Why would you ban the tour to your own country. You would only ban it if your country's team is going there. It's very stupid. If he wanted to get rid of Mugabe's regime he should talk to the united nations.

The cricket might help zimbabwe anyway. If they get a win imagine how got that country would feel.
