Member Interview Sambo

Post by Leo on Sun Feb 03, 2008 8:33 pm

1. What country are you from?
Im from queensland in australia

2. What
standard do you play?
I play at a regional level. i play for gold coast. We
play against teams such as sunshine coast and far north queensland.

3.
What type of player are you?
Im a very aggresive batting allrounder. I bat
r/h and bowl r/h leggies and r/h fast (for a 13 year old). Im a player who will
fight till the finish no matter what position we are in. Also i like being
around the leadership group as i like to know whats happening and how i can
contribute to the team.

4. What is your best achievemnt?
My best
acheivement would be scoring my first 50 with my best mate while setting up
my team for a win. I came in at 7/43 and him shortly after. We batted for
roughly a 100 run partnership. along the way i scored my first 6. We ended up
all out for 195 and we bowled them out for 99. I ended up getting fifty and
getting caught in my last ball before retiring.

5. Is cricket the
biggest sport in Australia?
Yeah it is. The reason why is that there is no
other summer sport around. and its been popular as it was the first sport
australia played at a professional level.

6. What types of games do
colts play?
(im assuming colts mean representative teams). In rep matches up
to under 15's play 50 over one day matches. over under 15s play 55 over one day
matches. the queensland under 17 side plays 2 day games in lead up to their
national championships as one day and 2 day matches.

7. What are the
teas like?
at my level we play in the mornings. but we dont get supplied food
ourselves. weve gotta bring it. Tea doesnt get given to players for free until
the XXXX Gold First and Second grades. As these 2 grades are places where
current and future queensland and australian players are being produced so they
want to get as close to first calls cricket as possible.

When I played 4 years ago in the U12 State final against Met West or east down on the BBG Stadium field my mate and I ( Michael Narricot) were chasing a huge total of 222 of 50 overs we put on 177 off 33 overs. Best fun ever!
